How Long Does Will Preparation Take?

After the “Planning Discussion,” most clients’ documents can be ready for client review within 2–3 business days. See below “Steps for Will Preparation.”

However, the total amount of time to complete the whole process depends largely on the following:

  1. How quickly you complete your Intake Form (see “Steps” below), and
  2. Your availability for the “Planning Discussion” and “Will Execution Meeting.”

Steps for Will Preparation

The steps below provide a general overview of the typical steps for Will Preparation.

Engagement & Payment

You sign your Engagement Agreement and make the initial payment.

Intake Form

You provide key information through a simple online form.

Planning Discussion

You and the attorney discuss your wishes and concerns.

Attorney Drafts Documents

The attorney prepares your documents and arranges a review with you.

Will Execution Meeting

Documents are formalized with witnesses, notary, client, and attorney.

Will Services & Pricing

Simple Will Only - $500

A “Simple Will” typically leaves all of your assets to your spouse, your adult children, or a small number of individuals. It also names someone to serve as an Independent Executor (administrator) to settle your estate, among other important details.

PRICING NOTE: Due to the varying complexities of each plan, a specific fee and attorney engagement can only be confirmed after a consultation. If there is a need to plan for minor children, incapacitated individuals, leaving specific gifts to numerous individuals, or other special circumstances that are not ordinary in a Simple Will, additional legal fees will apply.

Simple Will Package - $750

In addition to a Simple Will, the “Package” includes legal documents for you to designate individuals who will have authority to assist you medically and financially should such a need arise or be desired by you.
